SAM’S SHOP FOR NIGHTSAFE!

2024-02-12T11:13:18+00:00

There’s something very special about a seven year old boy thinking of other young people, not that much older than himself, being homeless. And Nightsafe are very fortunate to have that special 7 year old supporting us! Sam Trickett decided he wanted to raise money for charity and after a long discussion with his parents he chose Nightsafe. The reason he gave was that no one should go to bed alone, hungry, and not safe. Sam’s plan was to have his own shop for a day “SAM'S SHOP!” and with the help of Lee Roe, the director of Clitheroe Football [...]

24 miles and 1585m of ascent to raise money for Nightsafe!! What a wonderful surprise CEO Jan Larkin had when she received an email from Barker and Coleman solicitors in Blackburn asking if Nightsafe could be the chosen charity for their Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on Saturday 27th August 2022. This challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-gent, Whernside and Ingleborough, covering 24 miles in total. Of course her answer was “Yes please!” along with an invitation for them to join her at the day centre to learn a little more about what we do. The team, led by Kamran [...]

Jenson dives with sharks for Nightsafe!

2024-02-12T11:13:18+00:00

Swimming with sharks at any age sounds scary, but imagine if your child announced they wanted to do it? This was exactly what 8 year old Jenson did whilst he was watching the television with his parents. After mentioning it a few more times his parents suggested he use some of his Christmas money to book a dive at Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire and to make it more interesting Jenson made it a sponsored event and chose Nightsafe as the recipient. Daniel, Jenson’s dad, said “Jenson is so kind and generous. When he sees homeless people he always buys [...]

From the moment he arrived, Albert immediately felt like part of the Nightsafe family. His main role was to support homeless young people in the Emergency Night Shelter and the day centre. Jan Larkin said "It is great to celebrate our volunteers, every day they make such a difference to so many lives. We are also thankful to our board of Trustees who are volunteers too, sharing their expertise and enthusiasm. "With the help of our volunteers, young people who are homeless will always have somewhere to go, somewhere to stay and someone to talk to. They truly are our Nightsafeheroes!" [...]
