24 miles and 1585m of ascent to raise money for Nightsafe!!
What a wonderful surprise CEO Jan Larkin had when she received an email from Barker and Coleman solicitors in Blackburn asking if Nightsafe could be the chosen charity for their Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on Saturday 27th August 2022. This challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-gent, Whernside and Ingleborough, covering 24 miles in total.
Of course her answer was “Yes please!” along with an invitation for them to join her at the day centre to learn a little more about what we do.
The team, led by Kamran Ellahi, visited the day centre, spoke to Jan and the team and had a tour of the Emergency Night Shelter.
Following the visit, they said:
“Given the increase in prices at the moment, young people who aren’t as fortunate are going to struggle even more finding their feet. We were all very moved after our visit to Nightsafe and it really resonated that the money was going directly to supporting young people”
The event is only a few days away and the team have all been training hard.
Eadie Stobbs said:
“We are doing plenty of practice as we know it is a tough challenge, but when you see and hear how Nightsafe staff are supporting young people it made us all more determined to succeed. We have even been chatting about what our next challenge will be for them!!!
