Meet Nightsafe Volunteer Albert

Anchor Avenue – Making A House A Home
Nightsafe needs your help – and we need it NOW! We are calling on businesses and individuals to transform a shell of a property into a bright modern home for five young people who have faced homelessness In a DIY SOS-style operation we are appealing for businesses and retailers to donate goods and furniture, trades and volunteers to offer their time; and monetary donations to help fund and furnish the project. The house in Anchor Avenue, Darwen, was bought by a generous supporter but is in dire need of renovation.

Nightsafe Annual Sleep Out Event Friday 3rd December 2021
On 3rd December 2021, we will be holding a sleep-out to highlight the plight of homeless young people and raise much needed funds for Nightsafe’s Youth Homelessness Projects. The event will take place at Saint Silas Parish Church Grounds, Preston New Road, Blackburn, BB2 6PS from 8pm to 6am the following morning.
Cinquanta exhibition partners with Nightsafe
The 'Cinquanta' exhibition will partner with local youth homelessness charity Nightsafe to help raise funds for their new hostel in Darwen - giving a deeper purpose to this project and further demonstrating that C.P. Company understand the importance of giving something back.

Volunteer Week 1st – 7th June 2021: Billy is our Health, fitness and wellbeing mentor
Billy is a qualified gym instructor and has volunteered with Nightsafe for three months. He has already engaged the young people in sessions on site, teaching Boxercise and fitness. Billy is looking forward to being able to take them out to the gym, going walking as well as teaching them life skills.

11 year old James, running 150K for Nightsafe
This isn’t the first time James has taken part in fundraising events for Nightsafe. Having listened to his friend BeBe talk about the charity and how it supports homeless young people as well as taking part in the Stonyhurst Sleep-In last year, James decided he wanted to create his own personal challenge to raise money for other young people who are not as fortunate as himself.

BIDS for limited edition Nightsafe Adidas trainers reached over £800 when they want under the hammer recently. In 2019, 160 pairs of the green and red ‘Blackburn’ Spezial trainers – colours which represent the red rose of Lancashire - went on sale at a special exhibition in Blackburn.
Crown Paints bring colour to Nightsafe’s night shelter
Crown Paints lent their support to Nightsafe - with a generous donation of paint and equipment as well as time towards our charity’s refurbishment of the emergency night shelter. The team of six volunteers from Crown, based in Darwen, joined a further six from Blackburn Round Table, giving up their time over the course of a weekend.
Kris runs 100 miles to help Nightsafe raise £100K
Kris Connolly is putting his best foot forward – after pledging to run 100 miles in October to raise money for Nightsafe, a youth homeless charity. After a long period without training, Kris, 30, the new Vice Captain of Typhoons RUFC, set himself the challenge to get himself ‘match fit’ and raise money for a worthy cause in the process.

East Lancashire after taking part in Nightsafe’s Sleep In. Dave Mellor, Scout Leader, said the unit took part after being told about the Blackburn-based charity by Harry Lee – one of their members and Youth Ambassador for Nighsafe.

Hundreds of homeless helped with food during pandemic – thanks to Freemasons
Young homeless and vulnerable people from across Blackburn and Darwen will continue to receive food and other essential items thanks to a grant of £2,500 to the Nightsafe charity from East Lancashire Freemasons.

Christian Davies and his wife Mandy have donated their weekly beer money to Nightsafe during lockdown. Christian would normally enjoying a few pints of Guinness at his local pub, the Millstone at Mellor – but lockdown has stood in the way of his regular evening plans.

Sleep In for Nightsafe
Nightsafe is encouraging people to give up their comfy bed for the night to help raise funds to support homeless young people. On 30 May, the Blackburn-based charity will host their first Sleep In – inviting people to sleep anywhere except their own bed – what’s in in a tent in the garden, a sofa fortress in the lounge or even in the bath.
