We are delighted to announce that Debbi Dawson has become a Nightsafe Patron. Motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate by her own admissions, Debbi has been supporting and promoting Nightsafe for several years, in fact last year, along with her fabulous dog Bella she raised £2000 by ‘Walking 100 Miles in May’!!! 24 miles and 1585m of ascent to raise money for Nightsafe!! What a wonderful surprise CEO Jan Larkin had when she received an email from Barker and Coleman solicitors in Blackburn asking if Nightsafe could be the chosen charity for their Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on Saturday 27th August 2022. This challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-gent, Whernside and Ingleborough, covering 24 miles in total. Swimming with sharks at any age sounds scary, but imagine if your child announced they wanted to do it? This was exactly what 8 year old Jenson did whilst he was watching the television with his parents. After mentioning it a few more times his parents suggested he use some of his Christmas money to book a dive at Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire and to make it more interesting Jenson made it a sponsored event and chose Nightsafe as the recipient. Albert joined Nightsafe as a Nightsafe Service Volunteer (NSV) in June 2021. Volunteering was one of his life plans and Volunteering Matters introduced him to the organisation. From the moment he arrived, Albert immediately felt like part of the Nightsafe family. His main role was to support homeless young people in the Emergency Night Shelter and the day centre. Last week we celebrated our amazing volunteers who support us in every element of Nightsafe, from the day centre, emergency night shelter and housing projects through to our board of Trustees. Jan Larkin said "It is great to celebrate our volunteers, every day they make such a difference to so many lives. We are also thankful to our board of Trustees who are volunteers too, sharing their expertise and enthusiasm. "With the help of our volunteers, young people who are homeless will always have somewhere to go, somewhere to stay and someone to talk to. They truly are our Nightsafeheroes!" [...]

On Wednesday 30th March Hampton by Hilton, Blackburn officially launched their partnership with Nightsafe. CEO Jan Larkin and Project Manager Pam Holgate recently visited the hotel and met with Sales Manager Hannah White. Hannah introduced Jan to members of the team who are all really excited about channelling their energies and enthusiasm into a local charity. Jan commented "It was fabulous to visit the hotel and meet Hannah, to listen to why they have chosen to support Nightsafe and share with her the difference they will make" Hannah has lots of plans and ideas and can't wait to get started!!! The Hampton by Hilton Blackburn hotel team have pledged support to local charity Nightsafe, supporting young homeless people in Blackburn and Darwen. The team are committed to helping with a variety of projects including volunteering to help paint and decorate Nightsafe houses, donating moving on boxes and offering free gym passes to support mental and emotional well-being. Located on Frontier retail park just off the M65, on the border of Hyndburn and Blackburn. On Friday 3rd December 2021 Nightsafe hosted their annual Sleep Out. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness around the issue of young people who are homeless and raise funds to support the vital work Nightsafe do. When St Michael with St John C of E Primary School, Blackburn, heard about the event they wanted to be part of it and arranged their own sponsored “SLEEP IN FOR NIGHTSAFE” which took place on the same night as the Sleep Out.
