East Lancashire after taking part in Nightsafe’s Sleep In. Dave Mellor, Scout Leader, said the unit took part after being told about the Blackburn-based charity by Harry Lee – one of their members and Youth Ambassador for Nighsafe.
Sleep In for World Homeless Week - Next month, 5-11 October, marks World Homeless Week. More specifically, Saturday 10 October marks World Homeless Day – a day to show solidarity with homeless people and those who help them.
Nightsafe is encouraging people to give up their comfy bed for the night to help raise funds to support homeless young people. On 30 May, the Blackburn-based charity will host their first Sleep In – inviting people to sleep anywhere except their own bed – what’s in in a tent in the garden, a sofa fortress in the lounge or even in the bath.
Who would have though a night sleeping at St Silas Church, in the wind and the rain, would help to raise an incredible £29,000 for Nightsafe!
