COVID-19 Statement

As a local charity which provides support to vulnerable young people who are likely to be in the ‘at risk’ groups from the Covid-19 coronavirus, our priority is to safeguard the health and wellbeing of young people in our local community and that of our staff and volunteers. As such, in line with official guidance, we are now moving to the next stage of our response plan.

From Monday 23/03/20 we will no longer be offering our usual face to face service in order to limit non-essential contact, following the latest guidance. This will also enable us to prioritise our resources on continuing to provide as much support as possible for those who continue to need our help – albeit by telephone or digital means (where appropriate). Initially this will include:

Our emergency helpline which will continue to operate on 01254 672139.

You can also contact us at our housing projects on 01254 705120 and 01254 676673.

Advice and information will continue to be available via our Contact Form

We will keep in touch with those we can providing ongoing emotional support and help with practical advice along with toiletries and cleaning products supporting young people in difficult circumstances to remain as healthy as possible during this period.

We will keep in touch via usual social media outlets, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

If you need emergency accommodation, please ring Blackburn with Darwen Housing Needs on 01254 585444 or 07739454978.

We are also working closely with local partners in the Local Authority and voluntary sector to continually assess needs that are emerging and will be updating and developing our offer in response to this in the coming days and weeks. We are staying in touch with other national homeless charities to keep up to date and identify good practice.

We are all in unprecedented and uncertain times and as an organisation we remain determined to do what we do best – support vulnerable, local young people in their time of need. We will also be looking forward to and planning for a return to our normal service provision when it is safe to do so.

If anyone requires assistance we can be contacted on 01254 672139, or via our Contact Form

Kind Regards

J Larkin
