A Blackburn-based charity has thanked Barratt Homes for their £1,000 community fund donation, describing it as a “lifeline for young people”.
A young person who turned to local youth homelessness charity Nightsafe in a time of crisis, who has since become a passionate ambassador for its work, has been recognised for a prestigious national award.
Nightsafe is appealing for volunteers to help form a new charity committee to raise funds for vulnerable young people. The homeless charity, established over 30 years ago, is seeking individuals who have the time and skills to help raise much-needed funds to support the young people who access their services.
Nightsafe Chief Executive Jan Larkin has returned to work following cancer treatment with a renewed passion for the charity’s mission and a clear call to action for the community to back young people facing homelessness.
A homeless charity is set to benefit from a donation of solar panels worth £8,000 from a generous local business – which will reduce their electricity bills by up to 30% at one of their housing projects.
Local youth homeless charity Nightsafe has once again been recognised for its life-changing work supporting vulnerable young people, following a detailed re-evaluation for the Investing in Children membership award.
Nightsafe has welcomed a new chair to the charity’s board of trustees – Tim Barlow. Tim, who works for the NHS Counter Fraud Authority, as well as being a director at 3B Risk Group Limited, plans to draw on his skills set by bringing a structured approach in supporting the excellent work the charity does across Blackburn and Darwen.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust will be working in collaboration with Nightsafe, a local charity that supports homeless people within the borough, to host ‘The Big Sleep Out 2022’ on Friday 18th November at Ewood Park!
