Albert joined Nightsafe as a Nightsafe Service Volunteer (NSV) in June 2021. Volunteering was one of his life plans and Volunteering Matters introduced him to the organisation.
From the moment he arrived, Albert immediately felt like part of the Nightsafe family. His main role was to support homeless young people in the Emergency Night Shelter and the day centre.
Albert said “I love how engaged Nightsafe are with the young people and how they made me feel part of the Nightsafe family. I was encouraged to get involved with all the day centre activities and it was really special to see how the staff ensure the young people are at the centre of everything they do”
“Working at Nightsafe has confirmed where my passions lie, I felt like I was making a real difference to the lives of others. I have learnt so much about young people and the issues and challenges they face and have seen first-hand how, with the right support and encouragement, they can create a positive future for themselves”
Nicola Roscoe, Nightsafe Interim Operations Manager said “It has been a pleasure to have Albert at Nightsafe. He is such a fun individual to be around and has been able to use his skills and knowledge to make a real difference. We were all sad to see him leave but were delighted to see him secure a role as a Housing worker, supporting homeless people and wish him all the best for his future”
Without the help of our supporters, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
Thank you to all our #NightsafeHeroes.
