One Christmas Eve, Evan received a desperate call from Nightsafe, asking for his support. The electrics had blown at the new Anchor Avenue housing project in Darwen, and they were unable to open without an electric supply for the five young people requiring accommodation.

It took Evan and a team of three electricians a few hours to fix the problem and ensure the property was safe. The charitable team also returned in the new year to fix a few more issues they’d spotted free of charge.

Since then, Evan has been the charity’s go to electrician – and now he has offered to PAT test all the charity’s appliances across all its locations free of charge – saving the charity around £2,000 and ensuring their safety.

Evan said: “For lots of people, home is the last place these young people want to go. Nightsafe provide a loving caring home to go to, where you can feel safe regardless of the situation these young people are facing.

You have to do what you can, to help the people who you can.
