Founded by James Wilson in 2018, JAWS Gas Services is a trusted plumbing, heating and gas business based in Darwen and operating across the North West.
James has been self-employed for over 16 years and regularly travels across the M62 and M6, working on domestic, commercial and industrial jobs.

With a team known for its practical know-how and strong values, JAWS Gas Services has built a reputation for reliability and hands-on support – qualities that now extend to their relationship with Nightsafe.

JAWS Gas Services is recognised as an In Kind Patron of Nightsafe, having provided ongoing, practical support to the charity for several years. The business initially got involved through a connection with friend and fellow Patron, Daniel at Vision Linens.

Founder James Wilson has carried out various plumbing and heating jobs for the charity – including gas safety checks, repairing leaks and damage as well as keeping showers hot and working. This has always as a voluntary contribution, with James never charging for his time or labour.

“This is what we do for a job and it’s something we can offer that we know will help the charity,” James said.

He has a longstanding connection with the team at Nightsafe and a personal understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young people. What the charity does mirrors the work of his wife, who supports at-risk teenagers in a neighbouring borough.

For James, Nightsafe’s work is close to home – both personally and professionally. Based in Manchester, he sees the realities of homelessness every day. He describes Nightsafe as ‘a necessary space’ for those who need support.

He’s also worked with members of the Nightsafe team outside of the charity, and shares that after experiencing personal trauma himself, he knows the importance of people stepping up to help others.

“People need people to give back,” he said. “It’s a charity close to my heart.”

James believes the effort is worth it – especially when you see how much the team at Nightsafe puts in, and the difference it makes.
