Witton Project

A Shared “Next Step” Accommodation Service

Nightsafe’s Witton Project is a medium stay supported housing project for up to four homeless young people.

What To Expect

Nightsafe’s Witton Project is a four-bedroom shared “next step” accommodation service, providing supported housing for young people aged 18-25 who are preparing for greater independence.
Witton is designed for young people who are ready to move on from more intensive supported housing but who still benefit from structured outreach support as they build confidence and independent living skills.
Witton Project is based in a shared house environment, offering a smaller, calmer setting that helps bridge the gap between supported accommodation and fully independent living.
Each young person is supported by a dedicated Outreach Worker who works closely with them to identify their goals and co-produce a personalised action plan. Support focuses on building essential life skills such as:

  • Managing utility meters
  • Understanding bills and budgeting
  • Fire safety and fire drills
  • Establishing household routines
  • Creating and following cleaning and bin rotas

Residents have:

  • Their own bedroom
  • Their own door key
  • Greater independence and responsibility

There is no 24/7 on-site staffing, helping young people build confidence while still knowing support is available when needed.
All residents are expected to be in employment, education or training, or working towards this with staff support.
The aim of Witton is to help young people feel confident, capable and fully prepared for independent living.

Who Else Will Be There?

There is a maximum of four residents staying at any one time.
Witton is particularly suited to young people who:

  • May not yet feel ready to live fully independently
  • No longer require 24/7 supported accommodation
  • Experience anxiety or low confidence
  • Find larger environments overwhelming
  • May be easily influenced by others
  • Struggle with isolation
  • Need additional guidance to manage a household

The smaller shared setting creates a supportive, manageable environment where young people can continue developing independence at their own pace.

How Do I Access It?

Referrals to the Witton Project are accepted from the local Borough, as well as through internal Nightsafe move-on pathways.
If you would like more information about accessing the service, please contact Nightsafe directly or speak to your current Support Worker if you are already receiving support.

What Does It Cost?

Costs vary depending on individual circumstances.
This will be discussed with you as part of the referral and assessment process. Nightsafe works to ensure that accommodation remains affordable while supporting young people to manage their finances independently.
